About
A quiet practice,
built on referrals.
We don’t advertise. Every client we have came from someone who already trusts us — and that’s how we like it.
Since 2011
15+ years of
small-business books.
SB&A Tax has spent more than 15years working alongside Ontario’s owner-operators — the salons, restaurants, contractors, retailers and family corporations that don’t need a Big Four firm but absolutely need their books done right.
We are not a CPA firm. We don’t do audits or assurance work. What we do — bookkeeping, payroll, HST and corporate tax filings — is what most small businesses actually need, month in and month out.
Because we grow only by referral, every new client comes with context: a friend, a relative, a fellow business owner who passed our name along. That keeps the practice small, the work focused, and the standard high.
What we believe
Four things we hold
ourselves to.
01
Same person, every month.
Small businesses don't need an account manager and a junior bookkeeper. They need one person who knows the file. That's how we work.
02
Clean numbers, plain English.
Statements you can read at the kitchen table. We translate the accounting so you can make decisions, not study them.
03
On time, every time.
HST deadlines, payroll remittances, year-end T2s — we track them so you don't have to. You'll never get a CRA penalty letter from us.
04
Honest about fit.
If we're not the right firm for you — too small, too specialized, wrong industry — we'll tell you. We'd rather refer you elsewhere than take a file we can't serve well.
A note on our designation
We're not a CPA firm — and that's by design.
In Ontario, only licensed Chartered Professional Accountants can issue audit or review engagements. We don’t do those, and we don’t pretend to.
What we do — bookkeeping, compilations, tax preparation, payroll administration — is exactly the work most small businesses need year-round. Keeping the practice small lets us stay close to that work, and keeps our pricing fair.
If you ever need a CPA-licensed engagement (for a bank loan, an audit, a complex tax matter), we’ll happily refer you to a colleague who handles those.
